Coming up against Liverpool College for the third and final game of the year the stakes where high, a win would secure a series victory, however it would mean more than that to the players. From the start we set ourselves up in their half and Wheeler ran over the white with a thumping line early on, Martin got the conversion and we had first blood. However things started to look shaky for the boys when Conor Taylor, on his 18th birthday no less, was scythed down and dislocated his shoulder. After some poor defending on our line Liverpool got one back. We pressed on and on the verge of half time McCord played a sublime grubber through the backline and Wheeler finished off for his second of the match. Knowing we had to up the tempo in the second half, we came out all guns blazing and I managed to strike another blow with a pick and go early in the half. We turned on the attacking tempo and despite Liverpool getting a try back Holt and Parnell also got their names to the score sheet.
A job well done and a gritty performance that did the boys proud.
