Head Boy Angus Wheeler, Praepositor Luca Simmons and L6 student Max Fairburn have been selected to represent the Isle of Man U18’s Rugby 7’s Squad. The newly formed squad captained by Angus & Luca won the Rossall School 7’s tournament in Lancashire last weekend with Max Fairburn the top try scorer of the day with six tries. This is a great start for the Isle of Man as the boys go on to represent their country in the Junior 7’s International Cup in Portugal in a couple of weeks time. The squad will also play in the North of England Sevens competition at the beginning of March before a trip to the prestigious Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens at the end of March.
The ultimate goal for Isle of Man Rugby Sevens announced in last week’s press is to have an Isle of Man sevens team at the 2030 Commonwealth Games.
OKW Jonty Cope is also in the squad.
