Students at King William's College are celebrating another strong set of results in the school's 2017 IGCSE/GCSEs.
Principal Joss Buchanan commented:
'There were many individual success stories and it is very pleasing to see so many of those who had found the courses quite challenging in the end doing so well. I'd also like to congratulate our international students, who have achieved some very impressive results whilst studying in their second language.
'There is much debate in the press about the ongoing changes to the GCSE courses and the new grading structure that has been introduced this year, with overall pass levels dipping in England.
'At College, almost all of our subjects use the IGCSE qualification and that means that for the moment we are still on the A*-G scale rather than the new 9-1 scale. In time, the new scale will also be used for the IGCSEs and we will see the first of our subjects move over to the new scale next summer.'
