After a hectic schedule of racing in both the UK and further afield, Teddy Dunn's competition sailing season came to an end last week. His team, which comprised four 13-14 year olds in two dinghies, won the acclaimed RYA Eric Twiname Junior Team Racing Championships at Farmoor Reservoir, Oxford. He was helming in extremely gusty conditions against 29 other teams representing the most successful members of the British sailing clubs and associations in a total of 216 intense races over the weekend. His team were either first or second in every race except for one. Despite boat breakages, severe rain storms and increasing winds they pipped Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club to the post in the finals. This followed a string of successes throughout the summer in both single-handed and two-person-dinghies including 4th in the Tera Worlds in Sweden and 5th in the Tera Nationals in Brightlingsea.
Teddy has been invited and has signed a contract to join the British Team RYA UK Junior Squad in the RS Feva XL, an Olympic pathway dinghy which will take him through the winter to the next level of competition in 2020.
