HEAD OF BOARDING AND HOUSEMASTER OF COLBOURNE HOUSE
Ed teaches German and French and is a keen musician, singing in the Chapel Choir and playing a variety of stringed instruments. He is married to Sara, an English teacher at the College, and they have a black lab, Teagan, and two cats, Jack and George. Sara and he enjoy running, coastal walks and foreign travel. Colbourne House has space for 60 boys in a comfortable and spacious two floor boarding house and in another satellite boarding unit, Jackson House. All boarders are accommodated in double or single rooms, with one larger four-man room for Fourth Formers. All Upper Sixth Formers are guaranteed a single room to make studying as easy as possible. There is a large communal common room, with a table tennis table and a projector for film nights etc. There is also a recently refurbished gaming and film room for all boarders. There are two separate kitchens for Juniors and Seniors alike. Housemaster Ed and his wife live right next door to Colbourne, with an interconnecting study. Wendy Lang, the Housemother, lives in a flat upstairs as well.
Our son has been at King William’s College for two years and has settled in very well with the full support of the boarding staff and teachers, who have demonstrated great kindness and caring. The highly disciplined, but dynamic education system has helped our 15 year old son to adapt well and his confidence has noticeably improved in a short space of time. What's especially pleasing is that not only does the College have an excellent calibre of teaching staff and a strong academic curriculum, but we have been surprised and delighted to discover their excellent music achievements! With such great experience, our second son will also join KWC starting at Lower 5, to have a well rounded education. We cannot be more pleased with our decision to send our sons here all the way from Hong Kong!
