Senior Citizens' Christmas Lunch

Posted in School News

They sang brilliantly at both as it was good preparation for the Carol Service at the Chapel at King William's on Monday. Unfortunately the school was closed on Friday so the Christmas Fayre had to be postponed.

I managed to dig myself out of the drive and tentatively drove down the hill in Onchan in order to get to Buchan to officiate the children performing for the pensioners. I was thrilled to see Shelton, Ethan, Freyja, Emily, Autumn, Millie, Phoebe T, Amelie H and the Owenson family (Aristea, Alexander and Arthur). Everyone appreciated the Christmas jumpers as they looked very festive. The pensioners were thrilled to have such wonderful entertainment which included violin, harp, piano and singing. The children performed duets and joined together to sing the favourites 'Rudolph', 'Jingle Bells' 'Away in a Manger' along with some of the items which they will be performing at the Carol Service. I was extremely proud of them. The pensioners appreciated their efforts and I was pleased with their excellent manners and helpfulness. Jimmy (Evan Darroch's grandfather) came along again this year to perform on the piano during those times when the children had a break and when the adults were eating which was delightful and of which I am grateful.
