Posted in School News

On Wednesday 9th May the magnificent P3 musicians took to the stage (Gym) to perform on various instruments and voice. It began with P3's newest member Millie playing the bongos. She altered the rhythms, tempo and dynamics of her drumming as she played a piece about 'The Giant's Causeway'. Euan followed playing 'Merrily we roll along and Over the deep blue sea', all on the black notes of the piano. Maddie sang and played a piece called 'Aeroplanes' using both hands together. Charlotte played 'Oats and Beans' on her purple pBone trombone. She also played 'The Dragon' on the piano and recited her poem 'Marbles' along with Charlotte and Maddie.

Fergal played 'Supercalifragilistic' on the piano and Sol played and sang 'Yankee Doodle' on middle C. He got all the rhythms correct. Ophelia along with Maddie recited the very long poem 'The Owl and the Pussycat'. Shelton played 'Chinese Garden' which he will play to everyone during our Friday assembly. Millie C sang 'Sing a Rainbow' and played 'Boogie Woogie' on the piano. J-J played 'Marching Song' and Bradley played 'That's and 4th and That's a 5th' on the piano. Mimi played two piano piece 'Hopscotch' and 'Hot Cross Buns'. Hanna was joined by Millie and Mimi to sing all the Prep Test songs. Mimi learnt 'The Haunted House' during the P3 music lesson so she could sing along. It was a wonderful trio of voices.

Ophelia played 'Boggie Woogie on the piano and Katie followed playing two recorder solos. She played B and A B. She had to follow the notes and play different rhythms to the beat. Mimi sang 'Castle on a Cloud' and then ended the show by singing a song that started 5,4,3,2 with Millie C.

P3 excelled themselves by giving wonderful performances and showing their progress on familiar instruments and new instruments. What a super variety of performances P3, we are looking forward to hearing you when you perform in Form 1 to see and hear the progress you have made.
