One Day One Choir

Posted in School News

Song for peace and unity with One Day One Choir for World Peace Day, Saturday 21st September.

The whole of The Buchan School, together with staff, parents and younger family members, rehearsed and recorded their version of "One Wish" by Dave and Jean Perry.  The ‘Chamber Choir’ sang at the front to help and encourage the rest of the school.

The recording was sent to the ‘One Day, One Peace’ Facebook page, the composers and to Judith Ley from Manx Radio for her ‘Sundown Programme’.

One day one choir is an inspiring global peace initiative which uses the harmonious power of singing together to unite people around the world on Peace Day.  The aim is to create the largest choir in the world, singing for unity and peace.  The lyrics of the song are very powerful.

Dave and Jean Perry have been writing and publishing their songs for schools and churches for over thirty-five years. Their music has been performed by choirs in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, North America and Australia. They are recipients of multiple special composers awards from ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers).

One Wish

Dave and Jean Perry

If I had one wish I could wish for you, if I had one gift I could give,

If there could only be one perfect song to sing it would be peace, peace to all.

If I had one hope I could leave with you, if I had one blessing to give,

If there could only be one message on the wind, it would be peace, peace to all.

BRIDGE:

Sometimes the people of the world cannot see the hope that a new tomorrow brings.

And sometimes that hope is there for all to see, like a song or a dove on the wing.

If I had one wish I could wish for you, if I had one gift I could give,

If there could only be one perfect song to sing, it would peace, peace to all.

It would be peace (peace) peace (peace) to all.
