The Buchan Music department is a busy and thriving department that is renowned in the Isle of Man.
Pupils have the opportunity to learn a variety of instruments and join choirs and ensembles as well as having stimulating class lessons. We provide a comprehensive Music education which begins at The Buchan Nursery and continues through Buchan Pre-Prep and Prep Departments and on to King William's College.
The Music department consists of four full-time teachers - the Director of Music, Head of Music at the Buchan, a music teacher, a musician in residence and music secretary, along with a team of peripatetic teachers who offer lessons in singing, piano, harp, guitar, percussion, woodwind instruments, brass instruments and strings. There are some instruments available for use if needed.
Tuition fees are charged termly with an average of 10 x 30 minute lessons per term. King William's College is a centre for ABRSM practical examinations and each term pupils take exams up to Grade 5 standard.
