On 2nd December, several members of the Chamber Choir, together with parents and friends, had hot chocolate (with cream and marshmallows), mince pies and chocolate cookies kindly supplied by Mike, our wonderful chef, before they walked into Castletown.
Mr Corrie from King William's College accompanied the choir. The choir sang songs which they will be performing at the school nativities and carol service at King Williams' College Chapel. Sam sang the first verse of 'Once in Royal David's City' into the microphone on the stage. It was good practice for him as he will be singing it at our carol service. Armed with bells they sang the Christmas favourites in front of a large audience on a cold but bright December evening. The younger siblings of the choir joined in the singing of 'It's Christmas Day', 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer', 'Jingle Bells' and 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas'. The wonderful firework display followed shortly afterwards and everyone enjoyed seeing Castletown square and the castle all lit up.
The girls' choir The Doves will be recording their carol for the 3FM Carol Competition on Friday 8th December and we wish them the very best of luck. This year the carol is going to be filmed.
