Children from The Buchan School travelled to London this week to perform in Barnardo's Young Supporters Concert at the Royal Albert Hall.
Thirty-three pupils, 30 of which are in The Buchan School Chamber Choir, along with three siblings from Form 1, took to the stage to perform a selection of songs including pieces from 'Frozen', 'La, La, Land' and 'The Greatest Showman'. The children also joined in the finale and waved miniature Manx flags on stage.
More than 1,500 children from schools across the UK took part in the special Christmas-themed concert, held on Monday, 26th November, which is organised each year to raise money for the most vulnerable children in the UK. Barnardo's, the UK's largest children's charity, protects, supports and nurtures young people to help build stronger families, safer childhoods and positive futures.
Sue Mills, Head of Buchan Music, commented:
'After all of our preparations the choir performed wonderfully and was were a credit to our school. It was an incredible experience for the pupils to sing at such an iconic venue in front of an audience of more than 5,000, and I am sure it will stand out as one of the most memorable experiences in their young lives.
'We were delighted to be welcomed for our third appearance at a Barnardo's Concert and it was a real pleasure to be involved once again. The work Barnardo's does in our society is amazing and we are privileged to be able to support it.
