The Buchan Chamber Choir along with the residents of Abbotswood sang 'Morning Has Broken' , 'Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace', 'For The Beauty Of The Earth' and 'Come Ye Faithful People Come'. The choir sang 'Teaching Peace', 'Harvest Samba', 'Seeds of Friendship', 'A Happy Little Harvest Song', 'If I Were a Butterfly' and finally 'Benediction Song'.
The residents and carers enjoyed solos from Buchan pupils. Our pianists were Jared who played 'Pink Panther' and 'Staccato Beans', Amelie H 'Shadows' and Alexander who played 'Frohlicher Landmann'.
Autumn sang 'Peace Song' and Mollie 'Naughty' from Matilda. Ethan played 'Hedwig's Theme' on the violin.
The Buchan children played and sang well together and as soloists.
We were joined by four pupils from King William's College who delighted us with their performances. Grace played the cello, Louise piano, Alex cornet and Ruairi sang.
Mr Daykin accompanied us on the piano.
The residents at Abbotswood enjoyed singing with the choir, listening to their performances and the variety of soloists. It is a fantastic thing for our musicians to do and such a valuable learning experience.
The Buchan pupils did the school proud as they waited for the minibus. During that time pupils organised themselves to sing songs they are learning with their singing teachers, dance, say poems and play piano pieces and items they have learnt in their music lessons. The residents all said that the children were a real credit to the school for their wonderful behaviour and fantastic impromptu performances.
Congratulations to the Chamber Choir and soloists from Buchan and King William's College.
