The Buchan Chamber Choir along with the residents of Abbotswood sang the hymns, ‘If I were a butterfly’ and ‘ Morning has broken’.
The residents and carers enjoyed solos from Buchan pupils. Our pianists were John, Amira and Alexander and our singers were Isaac K, Alicia, Edith and Lucy, Gigi and Emily. Ruby played Scarborough Fayre on her recorder and some of the residents sang along.
The Buchan children played and sang well together and as soloists. Mr Daykin accompanied everyone on the piano.
The residents at Abbotswood enjoyed singing with the choir, listening to their performances and the variety of soloists. One of the female residents had her ninety fifth birthday today so we all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her. It is a fantastic thing for our musicians to do and such a valuable learning experience.
Congratulations to the Chamber Choir and soloists from Buchan.
