On Thursday 23rd November at the NSC the KWC 1st XI took on Ballakermeen HS in the final.
The girls had already attained a convincing win in their league match against them so it was imperative that they did not go into the game with any complacency that victory would be easy. The girls had prepared themselves well both mentally and physically and stepped on to the pitch with a sense of purpose. The goals came quickly with Sam, Jess and Erin all scoring within the first 10 minutes. Balla played with determination for the entire game and never gave up in any area of the pitch. The first half finished 3.0. After the break Leah quickly got her first goal of the game. The girls continued to create many attacking phases of play which Balla broke down effectively holding the score at 4.0 for another long spell. The girls higher level of fitness came into action in the last part of the game and further two goals were scored by Erin & Leah.
This has been a brilliant season with the team securing the double with league and cup victories on island and also competing off island to a high standard.
Congratulations and well done to all the team members; Erin, Celia, Toni, Mia, Freya, Tasha, Angela, Libby, Elise, Jess, Leah, Emma, Sam, Louisa, Molly & Robyn.
