Christian Aid Worker visits King William's College

As part of Christian Aid week, L5 and M5 (who had opted for the full RS GCSE course), had the privilege of meeting André Nsengiyumva, a Christian Aid worker.

André talked about working in Rwanda and Burundi and how life was there.
Both year groups learnt about HIV/AIDs and how treatment was distributed, and fair trade. Many residents in Rwanda and Burundi farm so there is produce for families to eat, and much of the country’s economy depends on exports of things like coffee, tea, chocolate. The experience was interesting and enlightening for both years and helpful as the GCSE RS involves looking at topics such as poverty and wealth, ethical consumerism, and looking after the planet.
