Isle of Man Astronomical Society talk to Fifth Form pupils

Garry Kewin of the Isle of Man Astronomical Society took the Fifth Form on a guided tour of the Solar System last Tuesday, 23 February.  He began by telling us of the start of the Society and its links with Patrick Moore, the well known presenter of "The Sky At Night".

King Chiaulee Folk Group perform at King William's College

On Wed 10th February King William’s College hosted the visit of this superb Manx Folk group.  The band has been playing together since tits members were pupils at St Ninian's High School and has made several CDs and been on tour representing Manx Music to the Celtic nations and Canada.

The annual House Music competition took place on Thursday evening in front of a packed house in Big School.  Liz Green, Director of Music welcomed everyone and introduced the esteemed adjudicator , Alison Beeson an ABRSM examiner and teacher at Chetham’s specialist music school. The atmosphere in the hall was electric with excitement, with all Houses putting forward a highly polished entry in each category.  Each House had chosen and arranged their own music and performances under the guidance of their own Heads of Music.
