SIXTH FORM (YEAR 12) ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Sixth Form academic scholarships are offered up to the value of 20% of the tuition fee.  The examination is held in the November of the year prior to entry and consists of papers in English and mathematics, as well as one other subject chosen by the candidate. This would normally be a subject which the candidate expects to study at Higher Level in the International Baccalaureate Diploma. Candidates who choose to be examined in music, theatre or visual arts may also be required to undergo a practical assessment. Past papers are not available. Candidates are also required to attend an interview. Candidates should normally be under 17 years of age on the 1st September of the year of entry.

Each scholarship is held from 1st September of the year of entry for two full academic years, provided that the pupil's work and conduct continue to be of the highest standard.

MUSIC, DRAMA AND SPORTS AWARDS
Music, Drama and Sports awards are available to pupils joining the College in either the Lower Fourth or Lower Sixth and are awarded at the same time as the academic scholarships.  The awards are up to the value of 20% of the tuition fee and those holding a Music award are also entitled to free tuition in one musical instrument.

MUSIC
Candidates for a Music award will be invited to an audition.  Candidates must offer at least one instrument, although singing may be offered as an alternative.  Candidates will be expected to play a piece of their own choice and take part in aural tests.  They will also attend an interview.

Each award is held from 1st September of the year of entry until the pupil leaves the College, provided that the pupil continues to study Music at a high level and makes a significant contribution to the musical life of the school.  The award holder will be expected to choose Music as one of their GCSE options.

DRAMA
Candidates for a Drama award will be invited to an audition.  The audition will include the performance of a prepared monologue of their choice as well as group improvisations.  Candidates will also attend an interview.

Each award is held from 1st September of the year of entry until the pupil leaves the College, provided that the pupil continues to make a significant contribution to Drama at the school.  The award holder will be expected to choose Drama as one of their GCSE options.

SPORT
Candidates for a Sports award will be invited to a practical assessment.  They will be expected to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in at least two of the major sports played at the College and they will take part in a number of practical tests.  Candidates will also attend an interview.

Each award is held from 1st September of the year of entry until the pupil leaves the College, provided that the pupil continues to make a significant contribution to the sporting life of the school.  The award holder will be expected to choose Physical Education as one of their GCSE options.

Sixth Form scholarships and awards are only available to pupils joining the College but at the start of the sixth form the Principal may award honorary scholarships and awards to existing pupils on the basis of their previous performance.

If a candidate applies for more than one scholarship or award the maximum reduction offered will not exceed 20% of the tuition fee.
