November 10th

We held our Remembrance service on Friday, paying tribute to members of the College community who gave their lives in the service of their country and praying for peace in the future. The Rev Brian Partington gave a thoughtful and moving address, and pupils read prayers for peace in a number of the different languages represented here. Our Chaplain, Head of School and members of the CCF also participated in the Castletown and St John's services on Sunday.

It was a good week for sport, with our 1st XV winning the "derby" match against Castle Rushen High School on Thursday—many staff and pupils braved the weather to lend support—and our 1st XI's victory the same day making them hockey league champions. Of course, success of this kind is all about teamwork—and it is the teamwork category in which College is short-listed for an Isle of Man Award for Excellence. I look forward to attending the awards ceremony at the Gaiety Theatre on Thursday evening. If you want to follow the action, I believe you can watch the event online at the Isle of Man Newspapers website.
