I have been rather busy since I wrote my last blog, attending various meetings. The International Baccalaureate Heads' conference in Seville was marvellous—not just because it is such a beautiful city that was enjoying an autumn heat wave, but also because of the stimulating discussions about international education and the chance to meet headteachers from around the world.
Some of those I spent time with were from closer to home, including two former Principals of KWC, Philip John and Kerr Fulton-Peebles. Less exotic but also most worthwhile was the North West HMC Heads' meeting I attended yesterday in Chester, where the guest speaker was Chris Woodhead, former UK Chief Inspector, whose views on the future of education were challenging and thought-provoking. My travels are over for a while, unless you count the trip down the road later today to support our 1st XV who are playing their "derby" match against Castle Rushen High School….
