Welcome to the Barrovian Foundation, launched in October 2007 and named after Bishop Barrow, the Founder of King William’s College. The Foundation exists to bring alumni, parents and friends of King William’s College and The Buchan closer to the school community and to encourage ongoing involvement in its development. The Foundation is also committed to promoting the school in the wider community and to co-operation with other school societies, all of which work to keep The Buchan and King William’s College family together. The Foundation is a registered Isle of Man charity, number 1004, and its ongoing efforts are and will continue to be directed at the educational and development needs of King William’s College and The Buchan. The most immediate project is the Performing Arts Centre, the first phase of which is presently under construction and on schedule for completion in June of this year. The Foundation is supporting this major project with its 'Another Brick in the Wall' campaign and you can follow the link to check on progress, to view the virtual wall of donors and, of course, buy a brick.
The objective of every good school is to develop the potential of all its students to the full and the objective of The Barrovian Foundation is to support the development of King William's College and The Buchan School by providing an enduring endowment that will help meet the changing needs of independent education and assist in providing the necessary resources and facilities.
The Trustees firmly believe that The Foundation is more than just a means of raising funds. It aims to act as a catalyst to re-establish past friendships and to renew contacts with the School as well as to bring in new friends to join the King William's College family which is at the heart of The Foundation's philosophy.
