Launched in October 2007, the Barrovian Foundation exists to bring alumni, parents and friends closer to the life of King William's College and The Buchan School. It aims to increase income through annual and planned giving programmes, as well as raise funds for essential capital projects. It hopes to promote the school to the wider community and complement the work of other school societies.
The Foundation is a registered Isle of Man charity, number 1004, and consists of the Chair of the Board of Governors, and the Chairs of the Finance, Development & Marketing and Education Committees for King William's College and The Buchan School.
The Foundation's funding priorities are defined by the College's educational and development needs, as identified by the Development Plan. As a result, supporters of the Foundation can feel assured that their donations will be directed to essential and sustainable projects.
It is the policy of the Directors of the Foundation that the Foundation be open, transparent and fully accountable to facilitate and engender trust in the financial management of donations. The Board of the Foundation will ensure that its stakeholders are kept up-to-date on the progress of their investment and reassured that their donations are well spent.
